The German-liberal-oriented Badener Zeitung , with the subtitle "democratic organ for the Baden district" appeared from November 7, 1896 to March 28, 1945 and since June 2, 1945 in Baden under several different publishers. The publication of the newspaper changed from initially twice a week to from 1922 to 1924 weekly and from 1925 to 1945 again to twice a week.

An “illustrated entertainment sheet” and a program of events were published as supplements. The predecessor of the Badener Zeitung was the Badener Bezirks-Blatt . Changing additions were made to the title.
