The house with the postal address Badenstrasse 12 is a listed residential building on Badenstrasse in Stralsund , on the corner of Jacobiturmstrasse .

Description and history

The two-story, three-axle gabled house was built in the middle of the 16th century.

It was repaired after a fire in 1965, and archaeologists found a tin vessel with silver coins from the minting years 1541 and 1626 in the cellar . During the plague in 1629, the residents died out.

The portal dates from the middle of the 18th century. The design of the plaster facade is simple. The gable shows applied, late Gothic designed keel arches and strong cornices made in the Renaissance style.

The house is located in the core area of ​​the city ​​area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the historical old towns Stralsund and Wismar . It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund with the number 58.
