Badminton Association of India
The Badminton Association of India (BAI) is the top national administrative organization in the sport of badminton in India . The association based in Lucknow was founded in 1934 .
history
With the game of Poona, India is considered a country of origin of the badminton sport. The association was founded in 1934 as the All India Badminton Association by Sarat Mitra . In 1935, one year after the founding of the Indian Association, he became the tenth member of the Badminton World Federation , then known as the International Badminton Federation . In 1959, the BAI also became a founding member of the continental umbrella organization Badminton Asia Confederation , then known as the Asian Badminton Confederation . The Indian championships have been held since 1934, with some of them being open to international starters.
