The Persian-language magazine Bahar ( Persian : بهار; DMG : Bahār ; German : "Spring") was published in 1910 by the poet and journalist Mirza Yusof Khan Ashtiani, also called Eʿtesam-e Daftar and Eʿtesam-al-Molk (1291-1356 / 1874-1875 / 1937–1938) in Tehran . It appeared monthly in two volumes (1910–1911 and 1921–1922) in 17 and 16 issues respectively. The editor's goal was initially to create a forum for literary, scientific, historical and political exchange and for the dissemination of information. Most of the published articles were written or translated by Eʿtesam-al-Molk himself.

The editor-in-chief of the first year was Mirza Reza Khan Modabber-al-Mamalek , the later editor of Tamaddon (1920), that of the second year ʿAbbas Khalili, who also published Eqdam (1921). Under Ḵalīlī the literary orientation of the magazine and especially the publications of translated European literature increased. Well-known examples are works by Victor Hugo and Rousseau and Lermontov's “ Demon ”. The discussion of contemporary Persian literature and literary criticism also became increasingly popular with readers.
