Bahareque or Bareque is a post house construction which is of pre-Columbian origin and was widespread in Latin America before the introduction of industrial construction methods.

The Gefach or Klaiben is, as in the European half-timbered house , often made of clay . Locally occurring materials are used as the carrier fabric ( Rabitz ) of the clay, for example bamboo or reed . In Peru a similar system is called Quincha . The construction structure is visible on the unplastered building.
