The Kaišiadorys railway station is a railway station in the city of Kaišiadorys in Kaunas in Lithuania . The station is located on the Lentvaris – Chernyshevskoye and is the starting point for a route to Liepāja ( Libau ). It is operated by the Lithuanian national railway company Lietuvos ležinkeliai .
history
The station was opened in 1861 when a connecting line was built by the Warsaw-Petersburg Railway Company near Vilnius to the Prussian border at Eydthkuhnen (now Chernyshevskoye ). In 1871 the Libau-Romny Railway to Liepāja ( Libau ) followed.
