The Licherode train station ( branch name : Licherode ) is the only three-track overtaking station on the Hanover – Würzburg high-speed line . It is located west of the Licherode district of the Hessian community of Alheim and therefore bears his name.
Location and course
The structure is located between the Heidelbach valley bridge in the north and the Schalkenberg tunnel in the south in a 2100 m long earthwork section.
The passing track is to the west of the two continuous main tracks. This is followed by butt tracks (with protective switches ) with a switch assembly area. There is also a signal box on the site of the station .
The station is located in up to 30 m deep cuttings and up to 20 m high earth embankments. The bottom width is around 25 m. The crown width sometimes reaches over 100 m.
The gradient rises in the station area with a continuous 12.5 per thousand in a southerly direction.
history
Due to the moving terrain, the station was the only possible location in the area, according to the Deutsche Bundesbahn, although the passing track had to be inclined at 12.5 per thousand.
Construction began in July 1984.
Around 1.5 million cubic meters of soil were excavated for the construction of the station. Around 250,000 m³ were heaped up as dams, the remaining masses to the east and west of the route were deposited in the southern part of the facility. Around 3,500 rock dowels with a total length of 42 km were inserted into the ground to secure the adjacent slopes.
The companies Hermann Kirchner GmbH (Bad Hersfeld), Bickhardt Bau GmbH & Co. KG (Kirchheim), Leonhard Moll GmbH & Co. KG (Frankfurt am Main) and Josef Möbius GmbH & Co. (Hamburg) were commissioned with the construction. The order value was 25 million Deutschmarks .
