Linde train station (Bz Cologne)
The Linde train station (Bz Köln) was located in the Linde district of the Lindlar municipality in the Oberbergisches Kreis .
history
The extension of the Cologne-Mülheim-Lindlar line on the Immekeppel - Lindlar section was a long time coming. In January 1912, the Immekeppel– Hommerich section was completed. The section from Hommerich to Lindlar was last opened in December 1912. The end came in 1960 for passenger trains. Freight traffic came to a standstill in 1966. In the same year, the tracks on the section were dismantled. Only in the area of the Linde station there are switches and rails, but these were not laid until the 1970s.
The station
In the winter of 1911, the Linde train station with a reception building and goods shed was built. A signal box and a toilet were also part of it. Construction work began in the winter of 1911. The station belonged to station class IV. There was a waiting room and goods handling. The first train steamed through the station on December 16, 1912.
The old buildings are still preserved and are privately owned in a large, fenced area. They were acquired by a private individual in 1972 and have been thoroughly restored so that they are now worth seeing.
