Milngavie station was opened in 1863 as the terminus of a line within the Glasgow local transport network. At that time it was still equipped with three tracks, of which only two are left today. Today it is the terminus of two side lines of the Argyle Line and the North Clyde Line , which connect Milngavie to the center of Glasgow and the southern districts.
description
The station building is located in Milngavie's city center on Fulton Road . The one-story, elongated building was built from roughly hewn ashlar stones that are exposed. The front has seven window axes with two gable surfaces. The platform roof is supported by twelve ornate cast iron pillars. However, the roofing is not the original and was added later.
