Ruwer station (DB) is a former station of the Deutsche Bundesbahn on the disused Ruwer valley railway , which led into the high forest to Hermeskeil . The train station in Trier-Ruwer / Eitelsbach was opened in 1889 and there was passenger traffic until 1981. Freight traffic was maintained until 1998. To the west of the Moselle was the Ruwer West station of the private Moselle Railway , which was used by passengers from 1903 to 1968, after which the track that was still used in the direction of Trier by goods traffic ended there.
The site is at the intersection of state roads 145 and 149 .
Between the tracks of the two stations there were two transfer tracks for exchanging wagons. This was important because there was no transfer option between the state railway and the Moselle railway in Trier.
Since 2006, the former Ruwer train station has been the start or destination of the Ruwer-Hochwald -Radweg , which in Ruwer connects to the Mosel-Radweg .
