Trittenheim station

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Trittenheim station , locally known as the Alter Moselbahnhof , was built in 1905 and is the only building in Trittenheim to stand on the right bank of the Moselle . The Moselbahn AG designed it in the typical construction of the Moselle valley with slate stones , sandstone-framed windows and a roof covering made of slate.

After it was closed in 1973, it was sold to the state road construction administration of Rhineland-Palatinate and remained unused until 2009.

In 2006 the Trittenheim community bought the reception building . In 2009 it was sold to a private person in response to the request for a subsequent touristic use, with the stipulation that this was the only station on the Moselle Railway that had been preserved in its original state to be renovated in accordance with monument conservation aspects .
