The Uhlstaedt Station is a breakpoint and former station in the town of Uhlstädt-Kirchhasel in Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia .

location

Uhlstädt train station is located at 55.125 km on the Großheringen – Saalfeld railway line (Saalbahn).

It is located about 200 meters southwest of the town center and borders directly on the Saale . The adjacent streets include Bahnhofstrasse and Sandstrasse .

The Zeutsch stop is about four kilometers to the northeast. Another five kilometers to the southwest is the Kirchhasel stop, which has now been decommissioned.

history

On May 1, 1874, an operating site in the form of a train station was opened in Uhlstädt . Initially, this station was not included in the overall project for the Saalbahn. There was only one switch installed for handling goods. There was also a goods shed and a side loading ramp when the Saalbahn opened. In 1875 this loading ramp was expanded and a crossing track was built in. The station building was designed more simply than the others along the hallway. For the year 1879 the existence of two platform tracks and three switches is proven. In 1890 expansion measures were taken and a centesimal scale was installed. The first switchman's booth was built in 1893.

In 1906 the Saalbahn was expanded to two tracks when a passing track was installed after 1906. In the Uhlstadt train station, there was no space for such a passing track due to the local terrain. For this reason, it was created behind the original exit in the direction of Rudolstadt. At the southern end at km 56.3, the switchman's shack Uw was built. In the course of the electrification of the Saalbahn, the overhaul track was extended in 1955. The switch stand was removed and replaced by the newly built Uw signal box at 56.48 km. At the same time, the Us signal box was built in its current location. After the second track was dismantled in 1946, the Uw signal box became superfluous. After it was taken out of service, it served the Deutsche Reichsbahn for a number of years as an apprenticeship station for training apprentices. It was then used as a residential building until it was demolished in 1986.

Pedestrian overpass (2017)

The station building was reconstructed in 1974. In 1965 the freight traffic was stopped. The removal of the loading track and loading ramp did not follow until 1975. In 1993/94, the track systems in Uhlstädt station were rebuilt, all switches were removed and light signals were set up. Since then, Uhlstädt has been a stop and a block point . The platforms were rebuilt in 1994/95. They are 110 meters long and are located north of the previous one. A pedestrian bridge connects the two outer platforms. The US mechanical interlocking went out of service at the end of 2004. Since then, Uhlstädt train station has been controlled by the electronic signal box in Saalfeld .

traffic

Uhlstädt is served hourly by the regional train line RB 25, which runs between Halle (Saale) Hbf and Saalfeld.
