Uhlstädt is a district of the municipality Uhlstädt-Kirchhasel in the district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringia .

location

Uhlstädt is located in the north of the municipality in the Saale valley . Southwestern neighboring districts are Weißen and Etzelbach ; Zeutsch , Niederkrossen and Orlamünde join to the northeast . The federal road 88 and the Saalfeld – Weißenfels railway line with a stop in Uhlstädt run through the Saale valley. To the north, hills to the Saale-Ilm-Platte and to the south that to the Orlatal border the floodplain.

history

Uhlstädt was first mentioned in a document from 1083 to February 16, 1084. In 1922, Kleinkrossen , Oberkrossen and Rückersdorf were incorporated into the community of Uhlstädt. Partschefeld was added on December 1, 1972 . On July 1, 2002, the Uhlstädt administrative community was merged with the Kirchhasel community to form the Uhlstädt-Kirchhasel community, which has made Uhlstädt a district of the same since then.

economy

The place is predominantly agricultural. There was a porcelain factory in the village, which ceased production around 1965. In addition to individual businesses, tourism, especially water hiking on the Saale, is important.
