Kleinkochberg is a district of the municipality of Uhlstädt-Kirchhasel in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .
Geography and geology
The place can be reached via Landstrasse 2391 and Kreisstrasse 18 and has a connection to the federal roads 88 and 85. The hamlet with its 55 inhabitants lies at the foot of the steep slopes of the Hummelsberg (518 m above sea level) on the edge of a plateau. The districts of Großkochberg and Clöswitz are also located on this area . The usable areas are mostly laid out on shell limestone weathered soils away from the groundwater.
Neighboring towns are south of Neusitz , west of Großkochberg , north of Schmieden and east of Engerda .

Kleinkochberg was first mentioned in documents in 1378.
The place has always been characterized by agriculture. After the fall of the Wall, new forms of land management were found. This is how you work today B. with horses, which are used for sports and tourism as well as for land management.

- The Luisenturm near Kleinkochberg is an 18 m high observation tower on the Hummelsberg (515 meters). It was inaugurated in 1864 and named after Luise von Stein (the granddaughter of Charlotte von Stein ), who lived at Hirschhügel Castle .
