Heilingen is a village in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia . Since December 1, 2007, the formerly politically independent municipality has been part of the municipality of Uhlstädt-Kirchhasel .

geography

Heilingen is located in the Hexengrund , which runs from the left at an acute angle to the Saale valley. It is bordered in the north by three mountains (approx. 400 m above sea level) made of shell limestone (Mordberg, Teufelsberg, Hirschberg) and in the south by two large sandstone culms. The Wiedabach flows through Heilingen and flows into the Saale four kilometers to the south-east in Zeutsch . The Röbschütz part of the community also belonged to Heilingen.

history

The place is said to have been mentioned in a document as early as 874 in the spelling Heldingen and was the seat of a noble family of the same name . The churchyard wall, made defensible with loopholes, has been preserved in parts and surrounds the late Gothic church from the 16th century.

On July 1, 1950, the previously independent community of Röbschütz was incorporated.

Before the incorporation, the municipality of Uhlstädt-Kirchhasel was already a fulfilling municipality for Heilingen.
