Railway stations in Bavaria |
The station Vohenstrauß is a disused railway station in the town of Vohenstrauß in Neustadt an der Waldnaab in the Upper Palatinate . It was on the Neustadt (Waldnaab) –Eslarn railway line . Initially, the station was a terminus from 1886 to 1900, so in 1886 a locomotive shed with an attached living and social wing was built next to the station building. In 1900 the extension to Waidhaus was opened.
The reception building is a hipped roof building made of polygonal masonry with corner blocks and a brick eaves cornice. The wooden platform canopy has also been preserved. It also includes a goods shed, a laundry and toilet block and a workshop building. In addition to a siding to the local BayWa, there were also two siding to a sawmill and a porcelain factory to the train station. The buildings are now a listed building.
