Christian Ernst Wilhelm Benedikt von Borcke (* 1714 in Pomerania; † January 20, 1783 in Königsberg i. Pr. ) Was a German officer in the Kingdom of Prussia . He most recently served as major general and chief of Infantry Regiment No. 16 .

His parents were Bayreuth-Kulmbacher Colonel Melchior von Borke (born August 31, 1679 - October 17, 1755) and his wife Anna Margarete von Trotzenberg. His brothers were Colonel Albrecht Friedrich von Borck (1717–1775) and Major General Philipp Ernst von Borcke (1727–1792).

Life

He joined on 1 May 1730 in the Prussian Army and came as Corporal Corporal for Regiment. 20 . On January 11, 1734 he became an ensign and on February 16, second lieutenant. On August 11, 1740, he became Premier Lieutenant in Regiment No. 37 . In the Second Silesian War he took part in the Battle of Hohenfriedberg . On May 6, 1745 he became a staff captain and on February 22, 1751 he was appointed captain and company commander. On April 2, 1757 he was promoted to major. In the Seven Years' War he fought in the sieges of Cosel, Prague and Schweidnitz and in the battles near Prague , Zorndorf , Kunersdorf and Landeshut .

In the battle of Prague he was badly wounded in the foot and the horse was shot under him. He was taken prisoner by Austria, but was exchanged. In the battle of Landshut he commanded a volunteer battalion, which had to surrender after heavy resistance. After the Peace of Hubertusburg he was able to return to Prussia.

He became lieutenant colonel on May 27, 1764 and colonel on July 29, 1767, and on April 5, 1769 he was appointed commander of Infantry Regiment No. 37. On May 7, 1771, he was appointed Chief of Infantry Regiment No. 16 and shortly thereafter on May 26, 1771 he was appointed major general. On December 29, 1776 he received his departure because his health was in poor health. He received a pension of 1200 thalers and died in Königsberg in January 1783.
