Philipp Ernst von Borcke
Philipp Ernst von Borcke (born September 20, 1729 in Bayreuth , † April 10, 1792 in Breslau ) was a Prussian officer , most recently major general and chief of the infantry regiment "von Tauentzien" No. 31 .
Life
Philipp Ernst was the son of Bayreuth-Kulmbach Colonel Melchior von Borcke (born August 31, 1679 - October 17, 1755) and his wife Anna Margarete, née von Trotzenberg. His brothers were Major General Christian Ernst Wilhelm Benedikt von Borcke (1714–1783) and Colonel Albrecht Friedrich von Borck (1717–1775).
Borcke came in 1742 as a private corporal in the infantry regiment "von Borcke" No. 20 . In the Second Silesian War he took part in the battles of Hohenfriedberg and Kesselsdorf and fought in the siege of Prague. On May 8, 1746 he was promoted to ensign and on May 25, 1750 to second lieutenant .
In the Seven Years' War he fought near Kolin , where he was seriously injured, as well as near Leuthen , Hochkirch , Torgau and Freiberg . During the war he was appointed 6 February 1758 first lieutenant and on February 18, 1760 to staff captain appointed. From February 9, 1762 Borcke was used as a captain and company commander in the "von Stutterheim" No. 20 infantry regiment. On December 3, 1773 he became a major . During the War of the Bavarian Succession he was able to distinguish himself in the battle near Brüx. On June 5, 1783 he became a lieutenant colonel . On April 22, 1784, he was transferred to the No. 47 “von Wangenheim” infantry regiment as commander . On May 28, 1785 he was promoted to colonel . During a troop parade in Silesia on August 22, 1789, he received the Pour le Mérite . On May 20, 1790 he was appointed chief of the infantry regiment "von Tauentzien" No. 31 and on August 24, 1790 he was promoted to major general. He died on April 10, 1792 in Breslau.

Borcke was married to Katharina Christine, nee Stielke (1741–1803) from Magdeburg and had the following children:
