Albrecht Friedrich von Borck

Johann Albrecht Heinrich Friedrich von Borck (* 1717 in Pomerania ; † 1775 ) was a Prussian colonel and chief of the Königsberger Land Regiment .

Life

Origin and family

Albrecht Friedrich was a member of the Pomeranian noble family Borcke . His parents were the Brandenburg colonel - Kulmbach-Beyreuthsche and heir to Grabow Otto Melchior von Borck (1679–1755) and Anna Margareta von Trotzenberg. The generals Christian Ernst Wilhelm Benedikt von Borcke (1714–1783) and Philipp Ernst von Borcke (1727–1792) were his brothers, the district administrator Heinrich von Borck (1767–1827) was his nephew.

Borck's first marriage was to a Mrs. Webern. A daughter was born from this marriage. As a widower he married Christiane Marie Elisabeth von Gersdorff . With her he had two other daughters and three sons. His widow received a salary from the king .

career

Borck served as an officer in the Prussian army and took part in the Seven Years' War . At the Battle of Kolin he took part as a captain in the infantry regiment (No. 20) and was then one of the missing officers. In 1758 he was promoted to major and in 1765 in the infantry regiment (No. 20) to lieutenant colonel and as such became chief of the Königsberger Land Regiment on April 20, 1766, while receiving a pension at the same time . Borck died with the rank of colonel.
