Railway rules

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The track rules determine the behavior of the riders when riding as well as the right of way rules in the riding arena.

Railway rules

  • If there are other horses in the lane, make sure before entering and leaving the riding arena or before opening the door by shouting " Door open please " that entry is free and that no one would be obstructed. Only after a rider from the hall answers with " is free " can you go with the horse in or out of the track.
  • Ascent and descent or held for rebirth etc. is done in the middle of the circle or on the center line, but not on the turning points there. Exception: there is an ascent aid on the board .
  • A sufficiently large safety distance must always be maintained from other horses, at least one horse's length when riding behind one another.
  • The second (or third) hoof beat is used in the step .
  • Lungeing horses on the track is only permitted with the consent of all riders present. If there are more than three horses and while riding lessons are taking place, lunging should not be used.
  • Mutual consideration is exercised, especially for beginners and riders with problem horses.

Evade

For walkers, riding on the second or third hoof stroke is recommended so that the first and, if necessary, the second hoof stroke are free for riders in trot and canter.

If two riders meet, the priority of the ridden line must first be observed. If one of the riders rides away from the named lines, i.e. not a track figure , the rider has right of way on the line of a track figure. If both riders ride a track figure, a straight line has priority over a curved one, so riders who ride the whole track have priority over riders on the circle. If two riders who ride a line with equal rights in this sense meet, they will ride past each other on the right. If you ride both of the whole track (i.e. on the first stroke of the hoof), the person riding on the right hand must move inwards, so the left hand has priority.

The line of another is crossed behind this one, so in the case of oncoming riders it is only crossed after riding past, in the case of riders in the same direction before riding past.

In departmental riding on one hand, the following applies: If a change of hands is ordered, the riders who have already changed hands remain on the hoof beat. Riders who still have to change hands move inward.

Individual regulations

Further rules can be agreed individually for a riding arena. At the Spanish Riding School, priority is given to those who ride a side walk, who work their stallion by the hand or on the long rein and the lessons of the students. Also common are rules that restrict horses from running free or require the removal of horse droppings after riding. This also includes time restrictions on when the train can be used. At riding schools it is customary to get the horse ready in the middle of the lane before the start of the riding lesson, to sit up and start the riding lesson together.
