The Chotětov – Dolní Cetno railway was a regional railway connection in the Czech Republic that was originally built as a connecting line for a sugar factory in Dolní Cetno . It ran from Chotětov to Dolní Cetno in Central Bohemia .
history
The route has its origin in a connecting railway (" Schleppbahn ") built in 1869 for the sugar factory in Dolní Cetno.
On June 18, 1897, the Bohemian Northern Railway (BNB) received the approval "for the construction and operation of a locomotive railway from the social station Kuttenthal to Unter Cetno for connection to the local railway Mšeno– by redesigning the existing Kuttenthal-Unter Cetno towing railway. Under Cetno. "
In the timetables, the connection was included as a continuous route Chotětov – Skalsko, as the connecting local railway Mscheno – Unter Cetno was also operated by the Bohemian Northern Railway.
After the nationalization of the Bohemian Northern Railway, the line was transferred to the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) in 1907 . After the First World War, the line came to the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD.
In autumn 1958, the route was used for the last time during a beet campaign to transport sugar beets to the Dolní Cetno sugar factory. With the closure of the sugar factory, the route lost its importance in the following years.
On May 31, 1970 the passenger train service was stopped, on February 1, 1974 the line was closed, but not canceled.
