Bezno is a Městys in Okres Mladá Boleslav , Czech Republic with about 900 inhabitants. It is located to the east above the valley of Košátecký potok .
history
The first settlement already existed in the Stone Age (older Neolithic , 4,500 BC). Other finds come from the Bronze Age . From 1460 to 1694 the knights Bzenští z Proruby ruled the area. At that time there were two fortresses here (Velkodvorská and v Malém dvoře). After a few changes, the Lords of Pachta took over the place and built a castle and a parish and rebuilt the church. Statues by the artist Jelínek z Kosmonos were placed around these buildings. The predominantly agricultural place became a baroque settlement. Since 1881 the place belonged to the Austrian imperial crown under Franz Josef I. After the fall of the monarchy Bezno became state property. Since 2008 the place has the status of a Městys.
Bezno was on the Chotětov – Dolní Cetno railway line .
