Katusice is a municipality in Okres Mladá Boleslav , Czech Republic . It is located about eleven kilometers west of the district capital Mladá Boleslav .
geography
The community is located in a gently undulating, mainly agricultural area. The road 272 from Bělá pod Bezdězem to Benátky nad Jizerou , the road 259 from Mladá Boleslav to Mšeno and the railway line Mělník – Mšeno runs through the village . Neighboring towns are Sudoměř in the west, Březovice in the northwest, Plužná in the north, Bukovno in the east and Krásná Ves , Kováň and Skalsko in the south.
history
The first written mention of the place comes from 1352. In the Middle Ages a fortress is said to have stood here, which was destroyed in the Hussite Wars . The names of local landlords and landowners have been handed down since the end of the 14th century. Around 1543 the property belonged to the Herzan von Harras . In 1798 the place came to Franz Anton von Sporck .
After 1774 a school was established in Katusice. In the 19th century, the member of the state parliament, agricultural entrepreneur and patron of the arts, Jan Nepomuk Krouský, lived here .
Attractions
- The church dedicated to the Assumption was first mentioned in 1352. It burned down in 1847 and was rebuilt in the pseudo-Gothic style in 1853–57.
- To the north of the village is the forested hill Bezvel (340 m) with a sandstone column that can be used for climbing.
- Dragster races take place on a former agricultural airfield .

In addition to Katusice, the municipality includes the villages of Doubravice, Spikaly, Trnová and Valovice.
