Nová Ves u Bakova is a municipality with 232 inhabitants in Okres Mladá Boleslav , Czech Republic . It is located on the edge of the former Ralsko military training area . Part of the common land is under nature protection.
geography
The place lies in the valley of the Jizera between Bakov nad Jizerou and Ptýrov . The municipality covers 367 hectares, 247 of which are covered with forest. The small river Bělá flows through the village, which flows into the Jizera about a kilometer further south.
history
The prehistoric settlement in the area of the municipality is documented by seven urn fields from the late Bronze Age, which the archaeologist Eduard Štorch discovered during investigations of the region in 1908. A single grave is known from the late Iron Age.
However, the settlement was apparently abandoned. Today's Nová Ves is a re-establishment of the lords of Zvířetice from the second half of the 16th century, the first written mention comes from the year 1608. The residents were the lords of the nearby castle Zvířetice for labor in the management of fish ponds and the mill in the neighboring Place Malá Bělá obligated. During the Thirty Years' War the village came into the possession of the Waldstein family . Until the end of the 20th century it belonged to the city of Bakov nad Jizerou. Nová Ves has been an independent municipality since 1990.
Attractions
The Lovotín Forest occupies a large part of the municipality. It is the easternmost branch of a contiguous forest area that extends over the site of the former Ralsko military restricted area and extends continuously to the town of Mimoň , 30 km to the northwest . The forest is used for forestry and hunting. The hunting reserve combines Lovotín and the neighboring Klokočka district ; it is 507 hectares and is state owned. The western border of the Lovotín forest is formed by the Rokytka valley . The damp lowland of this unregulated brook has been protected as a National Natural Monument Rečkov since 1949. The protected area is 3.45 hectares in size and, along with other endangered plant species, has the largest occurrence of the Siberian golden cob (Ligularia sibirica) in the Czech Republic.
