Dolní Bousov (German Nieder Bausow , formerly Unter Bautzen ) is a city in the Czech Republic . It is located sixteen kilometers east of the city center of Mladá Boleslav and belongs to the Okres Mladá Boleslav .

Dolní Bousov is located south of the Bohemian Paradise in the Jičín Hills on the Klenice River. The railway lines Kopidlno - Bakov nad Jizerou and Mladá Boleslav - Stará Paka cross in the city . Lake Červenský rybník lies north of Dolní Bousov.

Neighboring towns are Horní Bousov, Ošťovice and Osek in the north, Sobotka , Matice, Kdanice and Trní in the northeast, Zahrádky and Spařence in the east, Skuřina and Zelenecká Lhota in the southeast, Vlčí Pole in the south, Řitonice , Skyšice and Dlouhá Lhota in the south Rohatsko in the west and Obruby and Přepeře in the northwest.

history

Archaeological finds in the metropolitan area indicate a settlement in the juveniles and the late Stone Age and Bronze Age . During the Iron Age settled here Marcomanni and since the 8th century Slavs .

The first written mention of Búsovec was in 1318 as a property of the Ctibor of Búsovec. He was followed in 1330 by Bús von Bousov, who built a fortress here. In 1385 the village and the fortress belonged to Jan Michalovice. Aleš Škopek von Dubá later acquired the rule. He sold it in 1404 to Kuneš Kozojedský von Kozojedy. In the Hussite Wars , the fortress was extinguished, its location was behind the rectory. In 1446 Bousov was attached to the castle rule Kost . Around 1497 Bousov was raised to a minority . Bousov flourished under the von Lobkowicz family at the end of the 16th century. In 1600 Rudolf II. Bousov granted city rights and the privileges to use a coat of arms and the use of a green seal. In the 17th century the Czernin von Chudenitz acquired the rule. After the Thirty Years' War they expanded the town's privileges and six annual fairs were held in Bousov. During this time 30 fish ponds were created, which gave the town the name Bousov on the island . In addition, the craft flourished, the masters belonged to the guilds in neighboring Sobotka . Bousov remained part of the Kost dominion until 1848.

After the abolition of patrimonial Bousov formed a municipality in the Jitschin district from 1850 . In the second half of the 19th century the city developed into the economic center of the judicial district of Sobotka. It was created u. a. a large sugar factory, next to which a workers' colony was built. In 1870 the railway line Kopidlno - Bakov nad Jizerou was inaugurated and in 1906 that from Mladá Boleslav to Stará Paka . From 1878 the name Dolní Bousov was officially used.

After the Second World War Dolní Bousov came to Okres Mnichovo Hradiště and since 1961 the town has belonged to Okres Mladá Boleslav. After the sugar factory ceased operations, the Strojtex and Technolen companies and an army repair shop were established on the factory premises. A barracks was built in the north of the city.
