Jivina (German: Jiwina ) is a municipality in Okres Mladá Boleslav , Czech Republic . In October 2008 there were 422 residents here.
geography
The place is in the middle of the fields on a ridge between the valleys of the Jizera , the Zábrdka (Kleiniserbach) and the Malá Mohelka (Little Mohelka). The road from Klášter Hradiště nad Jizerou crosses Jivina and continues north via Neveklovice towards Osečná .
Neighboring towns are Neveklovice, Mukařov u Jiviny and Mohelnice nad Jizerou in the north and Horní Bukovina , Klášter Hradiště nad Jizerou and Mnichovo Hradiště in the south.
history
The written sources record the place name in 1400 as Gywyna , 1529 as gewina and 1556 as giwina vedle neweklowitz . The neighboring town of Neveklovice belonged to the Jivina municipality until 1920 and from 1964 to 1991. In the 1970s, Jivina took on a central role for the surrounding villages of Mohelnice, Kozmice, Strážiště , Vicmanov, Borovice, Neveklovice and Mukařov. The union was dissolved after 1991, so that now only the place of the same name belongs to the Jivina municipality.
There has been a primary school in town since 1891. At the beginning of the 20th century, further cultural institutions were built, including an amateur stage, a library and an agricultural school, which was in operation until 1948.
Near the village is the former manor Pachouň, the residents Jivinas frondienstpflichtig were. A part of the manorial lands was parceled out in land reforms in 1922 and 1947 and divided among the residents of Jivina. The Resthof has been working as an agricultural cooperative since the nationalization in 1948 . In addition to arable and fruit growing, he operates a large cattle and pig breeding business.
