The Košátecký potok rises on the edge of the Daubaer Schweiz in the town of Mšeno at 332.7 m above sea level. It cuts through the Bohemian Table to the southeast in a deep, wooded dry valley and passes the villages of Skramouš, Vrátno , Ostrý, Žebice, Boreč , Malé Všelisy, Velké Všelisy and Sovínky . At Bezno the brook turns to the southwest and flows over Nemyslovice , Chotětov , Sušno, Kropáčova Vrutice , Střížovice, Krpy, Košátky , Kojovice, Byšice , Liblice , Všetaty and Tišice . Opposite the Spolana company near Neratovice , the Košátecký potok flows into the Elbe after 43 kilometers at 159.6 m . Its catchment area is 218.3 km².

Despite its length, the stream normally carries little water and partially seeps away in the upper reaches. However, when it rains heavily, it absorbs the water from several dry valleys flowing into the Daubai Switzerland.
