Gregor Thommen (born February 16, 1980 in Biel ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who was head of sport at the Huttwil Falcons until 2011 .

Career

Gregor Thommen began his career in the youth team at EHC Biel and went through all the youth teams there. In 1996 he moved to SC Bern to play for its elite A-Juniors. In the 1997/98 season he made his debut in National League A for SCB. In 1999 he moved back to his hometown to EHC Biel and played for this club until 2001. Further stations in his playing career were the Kloten Flyers (NLA), where he played between 2001 and 2003, the HC Ajoie from the NLB (2003-2006) and the SCL Tigers (11 games in the 2005/06 season ).

In summer 2006 he returned to EHC Biel and in April 2007 won the NLB championship with the club. In the 2007/08 season he again won the NLB championship with EHC Biel and then made it to the NLA in the league qualification. After this success he left the EHCB and played a few games for the EHC Napf in the first division before ending his playing career due to a severe concussion .

From the 2009/10 season he was the sports director of the Huttwil Falcons . In the 2010/11 season he also took over the post of junior head of the Huttwil Falcons. In March 2011 he was able to celebrate promotion to the NLB with the Huttwil Falcons. At the end of the 2010/11 season, Thommen resigned from his duties as head of sport and junior manager.

International

In 1998 Gregor Thommen took part in the European Junior Championships. A year later, at the Junior World Championship in 1999 , he was part of the Swiss U20 national ice hockey team .
