The Parkers – New Boston railway is a former rail link in New Hampshire ( United States ). It is around eight kilometers long and connects the cities of Goffstown and New Boston . The line has been completely shut down and dismantled since 1935.

history

On February 19, 1891, the New Boston Railroad was founded. They built a 8.35-kilometer branch line to New Boston, which branched off from the Manchester – Henniker railway line at Parker Station . The standard gauge line went into operation on June 26, 1893. Five days earlier, the Concord and Montreal Railroad leased the train for an initial 99 years. The route runs along the west bank of the Piscataquog River .

In 1895 the lease was transferred to the Boston and Maine Railroad , which ceased all traffic on June 15, 1931. The line was officially closed on December 28, 1934 and then dismantled.

Timetable

The timetable of September 28, 1913 only provided for two pairs of passenger trains on working days, one of which ran through to Manchester . Travel time between Parker and New Boston was between 12 and 20 minutes.
