Baidit

Baidit (German: "Big House" / "Big Land") is a Payam (administrative unit) in Bor West County , Jonglei State, South Sudan . It is located on the east bank of the Bahr al Jabal (White Nile) near the main town of Bor . The city of the same name is also the seat of the administration of Bor West. The 2008 census (Fifth Population and Housing Census of Sudan) counted 51,532 inhabitants.

Baidit is often mentioned in connection with the adjacent padak . There is the administration of the Payam. During the Second Sudanese Civil War (1983-2004) Baidit was also the headquarters of the Sudan People's Liberation Army under the command of Kuol Manyang Juuk . The headquarters were located in buildings originally built by Dutch development aid for a medical training center.

Baidit is divided into six bomas : Akayiech , Manydeng , Makol Cuei , Mathiang , Mayen and Tong . There are three large communities in the Payam area: Angakuei , Biong , and Pathuyith .

Infrastructure

The Padak / Baidit airfield is a connection to the outside world. The Padak Fisheries Training Center at John Garang Memorial University was established in 2004.

For example, “Mach Deng” is pronounced / Manydeng /. Variants are: Akayiech - Akeyech; Machdeng - Manydeng; Makol-chuei - Makol Cuei - Makolchuei; Mathieng - Mathiang.
