The Baie des Ravins (French for gorge bay , English Ravin Bay ) is a small bay on the coast of the East Antarctic Adelieland . It is located between Cape Pépin and the mouth of the Français glacier .
Participants of the third French Antarctic expedition (1837-1840) under the direction of polar explorer Jules Dumont d'Urville discovered the bay in 1840. D'Urville named it after its appearance along the coast.
