The Baie des Trépassés (Bret. Bae an Anaon ) is a small bay on Cap Sizun in Brittany between the Pointe du Raz and the Pointe du Van in the municipality of Plogoff . According to legend, the Celts shipped their dead from here to the Île de Sein - hence the name: “Bay of the Diverse”. Another interpretation is based on the legend that in this bay the souls of the deceased waited for the death ship to be brought to the afterlife (beyond the horizon).

The bay is very popular with surfers because of the flat sandy beach and the strong surf .
