Baiersbronn Classic
The Baiersbronn Classic is a three-day uniformity and reliability drive for classic vehicles built up to 1975 under contemporary conditions. The approximately 500-kilometer route leads through the Black Forest. The winner is determined by around 20 special stages that are not about top speed.
history
The Ruhestein hill climb from 1946 - the first German motorsport event after the Second World War. The big winner of the day: Hermann Lang , who won the 1940 Mille Miglia with a lead of 1.6 seconds on his BMW 328 Touring Coupé . Incidentally, the BMW racing car that was lost during the war is now one of the stars in the BMW Museum.
The Baiersbronn Classic - the Black Forest rally for connoisseurs - commemorates this memorable event. At the revival in 2013, HRH Leopold Prinz von Bayern drove this BMW 328 with starting number 1 with co-driver Paul Rosche (nickname Nocken-Paule).

The rally takes place annually in September. Around 80 teams (one team consists of a driver and a co-driver) took part in the premiere in 2013. In 2015 there were around 130 teams from 11 countries, including 37 different car brands from 1927 to 1975.
Well-known personalities from motorsport as well as from the TV & entertainment industry take part regularly. a. The routes - around 500 km around Baiersbronn
With the prologue (Thursday), the Ortenau and Black Forest circuit (Friday and Saturday), the routes lead over three days with around 500 km through the northern Black Forest down to the wine region of the Ortenau and illustrate the diversity of the region. Start and finish is in Baiersbronn at Rosenplatz (exception: Saturday). Navigation is carried out using a detailed road book (also known as a prayer book in rallying ), the printed "Navi" for the passenger.
Rally with mechanical watches
The Baiersbronn Classic is a regularity drive for street-legal vehicles built up to 1975; only mechanical stopwatches or chronographs are permitted as timepieces in the cockpit.
Around 20 special tests, including secret ones, as well as various transit controls must be completed by the participants. It's not about top speed, but about the highest precision. The light barriers and pressure hoses used to measure the time should be passed with an accuracy of one hundredth of a second according to the specified target times. According to the regulations, there is one penalty point for every 1/100 second deviation. The winner of the rally is the team with the fewest penalty points.
Start in Baiersbronn-Obertal on Saturday
The start of the Black Forest Tour takes place on Saturday at the original location from 1946 in Baiersbronn-Obertal. As in Formula 1, the starting grid takes place in a row of two on the closed Ruhesteinstraße. Numerous visitors took the opportunity to view the classic automobiles. After the start, the sporting highlight takes place on the 7.3 km long, closed Ruhestein mountain route.
An "Anno-Dazumal-Fest" at the historic starting point in Baiersbronn-Obertal rounds off the event.
Historic motorcycles
On the third day of the rally (Saturday), after the automobiles, around 50 historic solo machines and sidecars (built up to 1975) will present and start in memory of the legendary Ruhestein hill climb . The machines start a 7.3 km long special test on the closed Ruhesteinstraße and can be seen before and after in the "parc fermé" at the fire station in Baiersbronn-Obertal.
Award ceremony and gala dinner
The crowning glory of the rally is the gala evening with awards ceremony and an exquisite dinner - created by the internationally renowned Baiersbronn top hotels.
“Classic morning shopping” and Sunday shopping
As part of the Baiersbronn Classic, there is a classic car meeting on Sundays with Sunday shopping. The local brass orchestra as well as Hansy Vogt and his Feldberger provide entertainment.
