Baik Hyun-Man (* 27. January 1964 ) is a former South Korean heavyweight - Boxer . Baik was a two-time Asian Games winner and a silver medalist at the 1988 Olympic Games .

Career

1985 Baik first took part in the Asian Championships and won the gold medal in the super heavyweight division (+91 kg). The following year he won the Asian Games . At the 1986 World Championships , Baik was eliminated in the preliminary round against Alex Garcia , USA (RSC 2nd).

In 1987 Baik started at the Asian heavyweight championships (-91 kg) and won the gold medal. With this title win, he also qualified for the 1988 Olympic Games in his own country, where he won over Zeljko Mavrovic, Yugoslavia (5-0), Maik Heydeck , GDR (RSC 1st), and Andrzej Gołota , Poland (RSC 2nd). ), surprisingly reached the final, which he lost against Ray Mercer , USA (knockout 1) and thus won the Olympic silver medal.

At the Asian Games in 1990 Baik was able to win the title as in 1986 and then retired from active sport.
