Maik Heydeck (born September 8, 1965 in Angermünde ) is a former German amateur boxer. He won the bronze medal at the 1989 world boxing championships , in super heavyweight , after losing to later world champion Roberto Balado from Cuba in the semifinals .

Before that, the athlete, who started for SC Dynamo Berlin , reached fifth place in the heavyweight division at the 1988 Olympic Games , after having been defeated by local hero Baik Hyun-man in the quarterfinals .

After he won third place at the GDR championships in 1984 in the heavyweight division, he won second place in each of the three following GDR championships, losing twice to Sven Lange in the final. At the GDR championships in 1989 he took part in the super heavyweight division and finished second after losing to René Monse in the final .

Heydeck is a police officer for the state of Brandenburg and works as a trainer.
