The Bailey Rocks are a small chain of reef rocks off the coast of the East Antarctic Wilkesland . They belong to the Windmill Islands and extend in Newcomb Bay from the north side of the Bailey Peninsula in a northeast direction.
They were first mapped using aerial photographs taken by the United States Navy during Operation Highjump (1946–1947). In 1957, scientists at Wilkes Station under the direction of the US polar geographer Carl Robert Eklund (1909–1962) carried out a survey. Eklund named it after the aerographer Carl Thomas Bailey, who belonged to this team.
