Bak (civil servant)

Bak ( B3k - servant ) was a high ancient Egyptian dignitary of the New Kingdom . He probably lived under Ramses II and was high priest in Heliopolis . He is known from a door post and a stele . In addition to the title of Great One of the Seeers in Heliopolis (the official title of the High Priest of Heliopolis), he also had military titles, such as His Majesty's First Charioteer from the main stables of Ramses-meri-Amun, the residence . He was also the king's messenger in all foreign lands . Nothing is known about his origins and family. He may have been appointed to the priesthood after a successful military career and too old to be involved in wars.
