Baku Boulevard (official name: Primorskij Bulvar ) is a boulevard in Baku on the Caspian Sea coast .

It has been a national park since December 29, 1998.

history

In 1909 the Duma of Baku decided to build the boulevard and commissioned the engineer Mammad Hasan Hacinski with the execution as well as the engineer Kazimir Skurevich and the architect Adolf Eikhler. They created a green strip between the coast and II Alexander Street (today's Neftçilər Prospekti). For two years now, rare plant species from other regions of Azerbaijan and Europe have been planted here.

In 1970 the boulevard was restored and expanded to a length of 3.7 kilometers in an easterly and westward direction.

Another project on the boulevard is the “Little Venice” of the architect and chairman of the Baku City Council Alish Lembarkansi. The plan came about during his stay in Italy in 1960.

Renovation works

After the renovations, the boulevard from the coast to the sea will be 555 m long with a width of 22 m. The height above the sea will be 2.4 m and the area will be 34,673 m².
