Ball bouquets

Ballsträusschen is a quick polka by Johann Strauss Sohn (op. 380). The work was performed for the first time on February 19, 1878 in the Sofienbad Hall in Vienna.

Remarks

The Polka is one of the comparatively few compositions by Johann Strauss that he wrote independently of one of his operettas after his debut as an operetta composer. The Schnellpolka was written on the occasion of the ball of the journalists and writers' association Concordia and also premiered on this occasion. In 1899, Adolf Müller used themes from the polka in the operetta Wiener Blut , which he compiled based on motifs by Johann Strauss (son) .

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 2 minutes and 44 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
