Bamberg Conference

The Bamberg Conference was a conference held in Bamberg on May 25, 1854 at the invitation of the then Bavarian Foreign Minister Ludwig von der Pfordten of the German medium- sized states , the so-called Third Germany .

On April 20, 1854, Austria and Prussia had agreed on a common stance on the Oriental question and had entered into an alliance for protection and defiance during the Crimean War . At the conference, the participants decided to join this alliance.
