Bamberg Nativity Museum

The Bamberg Crib Museum is a private museum on the topic of Christmas cribs in Bamberg's old town.

General

The museum opened in November 2001 and contains one of the largest private collections of nativity scenes in Europe, comprising nativity scenes from four centuries and from more than 70 countries. In the exhibition, a cross-section of the Christmas cribs in the Erk Baumann collection, which vary in origin, age and material, is presented on approx. 300 m². In addition to Christmas cribs various exhibits will be on Christmas issued.

The museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from the Saturday before the first Advent until Epiphany (January 6th). From May to September it is usually open Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment.
