Banco do Nordeste do Brasil SA (BNB) (German: Bank of the Northeast ) is a Brazilian development bank headquartered in Fortaleza , Ceará .
Through the cooperation with creditors and development workers and the 300 branches that are networked with them, the bank is able to provide the population with microfinance loans worth 15 billion Brazilian reals in around 2,000 locations in northeastern Brazil and the northern areas of Minas Gerais and Espírito Santo to take care of. The bank is thus responsible for the largest microfinance program in South America.
