The 4th Women's Bandy World Championship took place from February 13th to February 16th, 2008 in the Swedish towns of Borlänge , Grängesberg and Karlsbyheden .
After a flawless performance without a draw or defeat in front of their home crowd, Sweden defended the World Cup title of 2004, 2006 and 2007 for the third time with a 5-2 final victory over Russia and thus secured their fourth title in a row. Bronze went to the Finnish team after a 5-3 win against Norway. For the first time, no semifinals were held.
The team from Hungary, participating for the second time, again failed to score in the group stage and again lost all games. As in 2007, the team only reached the unofficial seventh and last place.
