Bangladesh Betar (short BB ; Bengali : বাংলাদেশ বেতার ) is the state radio broadcaster of Bangladesh .

history

In 1939, the station took Dhaka from All India Radio to operate on; In 1947 it was taken over by Radio Pakistan . In 1962 they moved into a new building in the Shahbag district of Dhaka. In the Bangladesh war , the station reported on March 26, 1971 as Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra (Bengali: স্বাধীন বাংলা বেতার কেন্দ্র; German: Free Bengali radio station) and broadcast the declaration of independence of Bangladesh. In December 1971 the name was changed to Bangladesh Betar .
