history
With the discovery of the Bangor Cave ( Bangor Cave ) in the late 19th century, the place experienced increased tourist traffic. The place became famous in the 1930s when the cave was converted into a night club. At times, even the Louisville and Nashville Railroad trains stopped at the entrance to the cave. However, due to a legal dispute, the club's success was short-lived and eventually led to the closure of the company and the cave in the same decade. In 1940 a fire caused great damage to the wooden furniture, in the following years the cave was covered in graffiti and rubbish and decayed, so that its economic importance for the place no longer existed.
