The bank99 AG is an Austrian banking company, which offers in addition to online services personal support in almost 1,800 service points. The owner of bank99 AG is 80% Österreichische Post AG and 20% CAPITAL BANK - GRAWE GRUPPE AG. The Austrian Post offers an Austria-wide and nationwide branch network and thus ensures the availability of financial services for 99% of the population.

As of March 31, 2020, the service will be offered at 413 locations. In May 2020, the postal partners of Austrian Post will also be involved as sales channels. The company describes itself as a “local bank supplier”, which closes regional and temporal supply gaps in rural areas, including through extended opening times.

history

The Austrian Post for over 140 years offers banking services, initially as Postal and Telegraph Administration with the Post Office Savings Bank and most recently, until 31 March 2020 with the BAWAG PSK as a cooperation partner. In 2017, BAWAG PSK terminated the cooperation and branch agreement with Österreichische Post AG as part of its IPO for BAWAG Group AG.

On April 8, 2019, Swiss Post announced that it would acquire 80% of Brüll Kallmus Bank from Grazer Wechselseiten (GraWe) . This bank was renamed Bank99 and has been a new provider of financial and banking services in the branches and postal partners of Austrian Post since April 1, 2020.

Services

To start with, current accounts for private customers will be offered as well as services relating to national and international payment transactions and credit cards. Secure, international money transfers are processed in cooperation with Ria Money Transfer. Based on the use of all service points of the Austrian Post for sales, the company sees itself as the opposite pole to direct banks.
