The Bank Railway Viaduct , also Templand Viaduct , is a railway bridge in the Scottish town of Cumnock in the East Ayrshire council area . In 1971 the structure was included in the Scottish monument lists in the highest monument category A.

description

The Bank Railway Viaduct was built between 1848 and 1850 as part of the Glasgow, Paisley, Kilmarnock and Ayr Railway . It now runs the Glasgow – Carlisle railway on the northern edge of Cumnock over Lugar Water . The arch bridge spans the river valley with 13 arches, two of which are low on each side. The Bank Railway Viaduct reaches an arrow height of 44 m. It is decorated with pilasters and simple capitals . A slightly cantilevered, simple parapet that rests on a semicircular bulge delimits the driveway.
