The Morava bank ( serbokroat. Moravska banovina , kyrill. Моравска бановина ) was one of the nine banks of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia , which were formed on October 3, 1929. The capital, de facto provincial capital, was Niš . The Banschaft comprised eastern central Serbia and smaller areas in Kosovo . The bank got its name after the Morava river .

The most important cities were Niš, Kruševac , Kraljevo , Jagodina , Zaječar , Negotin and others. a.

history

The Morava Banschaft was created in 1929 with the reorganization of the Yugoslav state from the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes into the Kingdom of Yugoslavia under Alexander I. After the attack of the Hitler regime on the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and the surrender of Yugoslavia in 1941, the eastern part of the Banschaft was with Pirot was awarded to Bulgaria, the greater part went to the Protectorate of Serbia . After the war, the Republic of Serbia was founded in communist Yugoslavia and formed as a federal republic; the Morava Banschaft was not renewed.
