Banu Qaila

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Banū Qaila was the pre-Islamic umbrella term for the tribes of the Banu Aus and Khasradsch , who later became known as Ansar , as the Medinan helpers of Muhammad. The Aus and Khasradsch are said to be named after two brothers. The term Banu Qaila ( sons of the Qaila ) goes back to their common ancestor, Qaila. The Arabs also called the Banu Aus and Banu Khasradsch together as Banu Khasradsch.
