Baoguo Temple (Beijing)

The Baoguo Temple ( Chinese  报 国寺 , Pinyin Bàoguó sì ) is a Buddhist temple in Beijing's Xuanwu district on Guang'anmen Street. It was built in the Liao Dynasty , later fell into disrepair, was rebuilt in the second year of the Chenghua Era (1466) of the Ming Dynasty, and restored in the Qing Dynasty in 1754 . The famous Qingian scholar Gu Yanwu resided here. In 1843 He Shaoji and Zhang Mu raised money to build an ancestral temple for Gu ( Gu Tingling Si ).

The temple has been on the List of Monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-314) since 2006 .
